Preservation of local values, value-centered community identity and community development are very important tasks of museums and other heritage tourism exhibition sites (e.g. castles, castles, visitor centers) - which makes them particularly important players in social sustainability by strengthening the resilience of the population.

I-DEST not only provides solutions for destinations and regional tourism collaborations in the fields of information and entertainment, audit, planning, and monitoring, but also specializes in heritage tourism demonstration sites.

The multi-platform I-DEST for heritage tourism showcases

A.) Shaping attitudes towards sustainability

In recent years, due to the social image-shaping role of exhibition venues, research shows that visitors have increasingly set expectations for the sustainability services of these venues, whose communication is at least as important as the service itself.

The sustainability indicator system developed by I-DEST graphically presents the suitability of the exhibition sites for reaching SDGs and increasing economic, social and environmental sustainability. By filling out a simple data sheet, each exhibition site can map where it has gaps that can easily be filled, and how its level of sustainability compares to other similar exhibition sites.

And if they want to be transparent to their visitors, the results can be published on I-DEST, and the collection can be included in the MUST HAVE programs of guests interested in sustainable tourism.

B.) Increasing the visitor experience - edutainment module

I-DEST can do more than an average audioguide or other virtual exhibition guide program:

  • multiplatform, user friendly options: app or website, both with access to all content

  • "classic" audioguide functions

  • pictures, videos related to the exhibition content

  • the possibility of publishing 360-degree images

  • various gamification functions - treasure hunt, point collection, challenge type games

  • management of separated content for children and adults in accordance with the GDPR

  • the museum program can also appear in connection with the destination program, which can significantly increase museum traffic

  • it is optional for the audioguide to have a free or paid version

  • user management and statistics

C.) Compliance with horizontal aspects - audit

Hivatkozás másolása

The I-DEST program helps to ensure that the compliance of the exhibition site with various horizontal aspects becomes transparent. Thanks to its built-in audit system, strengths and weaknesses become visible immediately after an easy-to-fill questionnaire, making decision making and development plans easier.

The questionnaire serves as a check-list, which contains all the questions in order to meet the horizontal expectations at the international level as well.

After filling out the questionnaire, it becomes visible to what extent the horizontal compliance level of the exhibition site differs from the index of other attractions and tourist services in the area, which is useful information in the communication of the exhibition site.

The system provides audit options in the following areas:

  • accessibility

  • elderly-friendly services

  • family friendly services

  • bicycle-friendly services

  • pet friendly services

D.) Monitoring, statistics

Hivatkozás másolása

The I-DEST program provides much more than the average visitor statistics, based on a total of 18 types of monitoring indicators, it makes visible the current situation of the heritage tourism site based on real-time data, providing feedback

  • about its level of sustainability compared to other similar facilities

  • about the family-, bike- and pet-friendly service index compared to other attractions in the area

  • about guest reviews (based on 5 criteria)

  • about the composition of the guests (location, age, marital status, etc.)
